A few folks have been getting a bit... how shall we say this? "overexcited" about Grand Theft Auto IV. The latest rumour to do the rounds is that Rockstar's massively anticipated sandbox shooter will be out this very month. SPOnG can confirm that alas, this is not the case.
The rumour originates from Sony's UK PlayStation website, which bears the release date "October 2007" for the game. Needless to say, when SPOnG saw it we smelled a big, fat, hairy, bloated rat. The game has, after all, been very publicly pushed back from its original release date of Autumn this year.
We decided to put in a call to Rockstar on the off chance some development miracle has happened and were told, in no uncertain terms, "It's coming out in Spring next year." Sony's website, then, bears either old information or a straightforward administrative error. Sorry folks.
While you wait for next year to roll around, sate your GTA appetite with SPOnG's preview of IV right here.

As if Rockstar would give you nobody's the exclusive scoop. Come on, get real. I don't think it'll happen this year but you by no means crush the rumour with that quote. If it is the big bang announcement then do you really think they'd leak the info to you? This is a ridiculous article cashing in on the rumour. At least the rumour webpages state that it's only a rumour. You guys have stated your 'findings' as facts that remove all doubt. P1ss off you fugly geeky tw@s.

See, I don't get angry rapidly or often. Some people see this as a fault, but - well - that's they're opinion and they're entitled to it.

Yeah, was reading about this last night.
Seems quite a stupid rumour but would be great (although never gonna happen). I think it added to the credibility of this rumour since the take two website hadnt been updated either and showed an october release. it seems nobody could be arsed updating their websites. http://www.take2games.com/index.php?p=games&title=gta4&platform=PLAYSTATION_3
Still, some people seem to think this is the "Big Bang" announcement which sony is planning. Surely if this was their big announcement they wouldnt stick it up on a website 2 weeks before it was announced!!
