Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Athletic New Screens!

Hedgehogs vs plumbers: explained

Posted by Staff
The good chaps (and chapettes) over at SEGA have unleashed upon the world a fresh new batch of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games screens, and SPOnG has them below.

Now, every time SPOnG sees new screens of Sonic - universally acknowledged to be the world's fastest hedgehog - racing Mario, we have a tendency to cry out in despair. However, this latest lot have got us thinking... about Sonic's legs, no less. Because, lets face it, they're of a girth that even a malnourished hamster would be a bit embarrassed about. So just how does he run so bloody fast?

Dramatic license, we must assume. But maybe, because the Olympics is a real-world event, SEGA's applying a more realistic physics engine to its and Nintendo's mascots! That would, of course, explain why an overweight blue collar worker is able to take on the spiky speedster with his puny calves.

Everyone satisfied now? Good. Now dig in to the screens below then head over to SPOnG's dedicated game page for more.
