Some poor staff member at Argos is no doubt currently getting it right in the neck due to mistakenly allowing a number of pre-ordered copies of
Halo 3 on sale today – a week prior to the official release date of September 26th. Oops.
Consumers across the UK have already purchased
Halo 3 from a number of reported Argos stores, with a number sending in pictures receipts and copies of the game into trade magazine, MCV (pictured here)
The Argos website stated earlier today that anyone who pre-orders the game will be able to collect it from stores on ‘Wed 19 September – Thu 20 September’. SPOnG went down to Argos to and, after punching in the catalogue number for the game, was met with "Sorry, this item is out of stock today", instead of the usual not-yet-available type message.
Microsoft is currently readying an 'official' statement on this, but it's currently rumoured that the company will ban any gamers that play the game before the official release date of 26th September.
More on this as we get it.
