The latest footage from the UK-developed, political-cum-action-packed FPS, Haze is now available at the bottom of this very story. This one shows off combat from the rebel's point of view.

If you're not already entirely familiar with the narcotic fuelled, bright yellow-costumed, complexity of Haze then the vid will provide some insight but not as much as our massive interview with Rob Yescombe (Screen Writer) and Derek Littlewood (Project Leader) - the outtakes will also provide pause for thought.

On other Haze-related news, rumour and speculation have been doing the Internet-rounds over the weekend regarding the fact that the game is a PS3-exclusive. You may recall our coverage of Sony exclusives as mentioned at E3 (You don't? It's over here) in which Haze was pegged as PS3-only at least until the end of the year.

This - plus comments made at Leipzig, plus the fact that all mention of any other platforms has been removed from Free Radical's Haze web-pages - has apparently lead to the conclusion that the game will be PS3 exclusive.

We spoke to people close to the game regarding this and were met with some laughter and the encouragement to speak to the publisher, Ubisoft, as this was entirely its decision.

So, we spoke to a representative at Ubisoft who spoke slowly and clearly to us, explaining, "Basically at E3 it was announced that the game would be PS3 exclusive for Christmas. That's where we stand - other platforms have not been ruled out but nothing has been confirmed."

Therefore, right now Haze is exclusive until Christmas... and then might or might not be. Doesn't sound like the most coherent of release policies to us. However, we can't blame Ubisoft as its response does reflect the industry-wide habit of not wanting to commit to anything in case it upsets share price. But that's what you get when an industry becomes more complicated, involved and intriguing than most of the games it produces.

No company (apart from a Sony owned or bribed one) will make a PS3 exclusive at the moment!?... this game looks cool, i think the online side of it will rock too... but with Halo 3 in sight this game will have to take a serious back seat.
