SPOnG’s team on the ground over at this week’s Leipzig Games Conference has just sent word from the Konami Press Conference that the Japanese gaming giant has confirmed Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be coming to Wii at the start of 2008.

Additionally, Konami has confirmed that Track & Field International is heading to the DS in 2008, featuring 20 events, eight characters, a special Konami character, four championship modes, a character designs inspired by Marvel Comics, Worldwide Rankings, tournaments and downloads.

SPOnG just hopes our poor little DS's touch screen is up to the battering that it is inevitably going to get once Track & Field International releases!

Two awesome bits of news from Konami. Stay tuned for more from Konami as well as more details on both of the above titles shortly.

Good god Konami. You actually listen to fans. After skipping the GC Pro Evos for next to no reason, outside of jap for so long.

A good decision, hope to god its got some online play too.

Track and Field is a nice surprise (in a pre Olympics hype type way), but where the hell is Snatcher for DS. Snatcher on DS is such a perfect fit no brainer. Bring those adventure games back to a new audience.
