Head of Game Development for Microsoft Game Studios, Phil Spencer, speaking to SPOnG's regular contributor, Steve Boxer, has some interesting things to say regarding the future of
Halo. Specifically that just because the forthcoming third in the trilogy,
Halo 3 is indeed number 3, doesn't mean it's the last.
Frankly, that would be commercial suicide wouldn't it?
Here's what Phil tells our Steve as part of our interview and Halo 3 hands-on:
"It does not mean there will be no more Halos – there are tons more stories to tell in the Halo universe. But if you played Halo and Halo 2, you saw the beginning of a story, and I think it’s important to finish off that dramatic arc. We want to bring the untold stories together. One of the things I’ve always liked about Halo is that people think it’s about the story of Master Chief, and in a way it is – but I really think Halo is about the person who plays. It’s your story."
So, not only are there more coming - the first three weren't even about Master Chief in the first place... we feel so... used.
Anyway, you can check out the entire interview and latest hands-on right
