DS Slide Controller - Pics and More Inside

Slide away, and give it all you've go-oh-ot...

SPOnG informed you earlier last week about Nintendo's first attempt at motion-sensing control for the DS, with DS Slide Controller and intriguing looking game Magkid (pictured here, courtesy of our mates over at DigitalWorldTokyo) now on sale in Japan.

Our Tokyo-based pals who took these pics of Nintendo’s new gizmotoy for us have kindly sent us a DS Slide Controller and MagKid, so watch this space for the full preview shortly.

As you can see from the pics, the motion sensing dongle slips into the DS’s GBA slot and looks rather nifty. Whether or not it actually works as a game, well, we’re aching to find that out ourselves… Come on posties! Stop going on strike all the time and bring our toys from Japan faster!

We’ll also have the first bunch of pics for you from NUK on Nintendo’s Face Training DS camera very shortly, which we are reliably informed should be available to buy in UK stores before Christmas 2007 - so tune back in shortly for those.

Bah! Nintendo was teasing us - turns out there are no Euro pics of Face Tightening or whatever it's going to be called yet... however you can go to NCL site at http://touch-ds.jp/mfs/kao_training/index.html to see more on the Japanese version just released...

Mine arrived this morning, and it is excellent fun.

One extra that I wasn't expecting is that the slide controller has built-in rumble for a bit of feedback when you hit walls etc.

Nice!
