HMV Balls Up MGS 4 Preorders
'Enthusiastic' member of HMV games team allow MGS4 pre-orders for Xbox 360
Over the weekend a fanboy frenzy was stirred up when UK retailer HMV started to take pre-orders for an unannounced Xbox 360 version of the Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
When HMV was questioned about the online pre-order listing it admitted the page had been wrongly created saying,"In his enthusiasm, one of our online games team indicated that hmv.co.uk would start taking pre-orders for MGS4 on Xbox 360, when, in fact, he simply meant to ask customers if they wished to receive an alert in the event of this title one day coming out on this platform."
So, the mystery has been resolved. It was one very excitable member of staff that started the online frenzy. While the Xbox 360 version of MGS 4 has still not been confirmed it won’t be long until it again pops up as another rumor and a debate restarts.

ffs, havent konami basically said it is a PS3 exclusive? well if not why, just stop tormenting both PS3 and 360 owners with uncertainty.

No, Konami haven't, so far, confirmed if MGS4 is exclusive to PS3; in fact, they have been making comments that they may not be able to afford to make it exclusive. Whilst MGS games have had good ratings, they apparently don't sell as well as the scores would suggest; with the high development costs, releasing it on just the PS3 might not recoup the costs.
