Wing Commander Arena from Electronic Arts, a touch-up of the classic
Wing Commander franchise, is set to hit Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday.
Official word has not come from Microsoft yet (instead coming from the offices of EA) so it's unclear whether
Wing Commander will be joined by another title.
For those of you not familiar with this next-gen entry into the
Wing Commander series, the real appeal is in the online multiplayer mode. EA's bragging that up to 16 players can jump in to the arena-style gameplay with 18 ships and nine different environments to choose from.
If all of that doesn't float your boat, you can always pretend you're Freddie Prinze Jr. in the 1999 film of the series. There are bound to be worse things in the world than waking up next to Sarah Michelle Gellar, if not than having been in two
Scooby Doo films.
You can find out more about
Wing Commander Arena over on SPOnG's
dedicated game page.
Wing Commander Arena will set you back 800 Microsoft Points as of Wednesday.
