Konami is working on a successor to the online 
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PS3. Additionally, the company has announced that an expansion of 
Portable Ops for the PSP is on the way.
The news comes from Sony's PlayStation Premiere event in Japan yesterday. Following a demonstration of 
Metal Gear Solid 4 in action, Hideo Kojima – creator of the 
Metal Gear Solid series – said that the online functionality of 
Subsistence was such a success that Konami wants to rinse and repeat. Little more was said, but it was confirmed that the new game will be for the PS3 and more details will be revealed at 
Metal Gear's 20th anniversary party next week.
