Activision's just hit the gaming world up with a double whammy announcement: its E3 line-up and the appearance of top-hatted rock legend Slash in
Guitar Hero III.
On show at E3 will be
Guitar Hero III,
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars,
Spider-Man: Friend or Foe,
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground and (sharp intake of excited breath, please)
Bee Movie Game. The line-up's not, it must be said, of the size we would have hoped, but such is the peril of having Min-E3 instead of the full shebang.
While SPOnG's keen to see what Activision has to offer with
CoD4 and
Quake Wars, the announcement that Slash will appear as a boss battle character in
Guitar Hero III was met with many a deranged whoop around the office. The rock 'n' roll hero will be contributing an original track to the title, while Guns'N' Roses' anthemic
Welcome to the Jungle will make an appearance. In an uncanny coincidence of rock destiny, it just so happens that Slash is famed for playing a Gibson Les Paul, one of the guitars that Red Octane will be
modelling its new peripherals after.Needless to say, when we get home tonight we'll be dragging our mock Gibson guitar onto the balcony in order to wow Leeds with an epic rendition of miming to
November Rain.
Keep your eyes on SPOnG for coverage from the ground of all things E3.
