Apparently traipsing through hidden temples hasn't been doing anything for Lara Croft's tan. To rectify the situation she's been taking time off to hang out at Italy's first 'Pink Beach', and SPOnG has the bikini-rific photos to prove it.

The pic shows Karima Adebibe, the latest lady to don the Croft hot pants, hanging out with contestants from Miss Muretto, a beauty contest for "younger girls" according to Eidos.

If you fancy getting in on the beach fun you're going to struggle if you're a chap. The phrase 'Pink Beach' isn't used for the hell of it (although SPOnG fears it may pander to gender stereotypes) - the beach is women-only. Maybe we should send our Girl Gamer to have a look...

Eidos recently got SPOnG's heart rate up with a team up between real-life Lara's past and present. We're a little bit concerned Eidos's sexy barrage might result in some health issues in the office.

Head over to SPOnG's dedicated Tomb Raider: Anniversary page for more on Lara's latest outing.

Tired of Lara Croft now, turn the page please. Ten years of gazing at her fruits in that blue top are really getting to me. And that dumb cliched HK gun pose of so 90's. She'll be raving in a minute too.

No more Tomb Raider games. Please try something else.

Nobody is forcing you to buy them, plenty of people like TR games as evidenced by Legend and Anniversary getting into the top of the charts.

Yeah, Tomb Raider Anniversary is a class game. When Lara's leaping through the air high above the ground, arm out-stretched in a desperate attempt to find a hand-hold, it gives me a little moment of head-rush vertigo. Which I enjoy very much. I won't let fools like Joji try to take that away from me.

The last two Tomb Raider games have been class, and I'd like to see more if they can maintain this quality. Lara's back and better than ever. Naysayers, stick to playing with plumbers and hedgehogs. You're welcome to them.

But that's just it. Nowaday's people just buy anything. When I worked in GAME a few months back, most customers went for the tried and tested route and op for the same old type of games.

I bet some people have bought TR just to see if Lara's "pixel perfect twins" are viewable. They're probably trying to find cheats as I type this!

Oh come on now. Where in my last post did I say it was crap? I didn't, as I'm aware the last two games have been good stuff. This isn't about the games, it's about Eidos cashing in on Lara Croft a bit too much. She's like the poster pup of games or something, looks cute says nothing much.
Always dresses in the same fur stuff, frankly ten years on its tired. It like they feel the need to keep her etched in our minds eye (anniversary understandable, but its gone now), even though she's not real. Someone, chuck her a bone and another outfit.

She looked cool once, but I can't say the same now. I'm all for having heroes and such, but Eidos, you need to move on.

I don't know, stick an eidos logo on her shirt or something.

Heavenly Sword couldn't come any sooner to PS3, Lara need replacing.

Yeah, and Nintendo should stop pushing Mario and Pikachu so much. Insomniac should lay off Ratchet and Clank. Sega should really just stop with the Sonic games all together. Bungie shouldn't be allowed to flog that Halo horse any more either!

Publishers and devs have figureheads, they have IP they own that makes them money. Why shouldn't they use those figureheads to raise their own profile?

If you feel embarrassed looking at a pretty girl with guns, then just move on and look at something else. I hear Duke Nukem may be coming back "real soon now" if you prefer muscled blokes.

The phrase 'Pink Beach' isn't used for the hell of it ... the beach is women-only

"Women-only" meaning "hot lezzers only", right?

Just check out the look contestant #1 is giving contestant #2.

Translation; "once we get done with this lame ass photo shoot, I'm so going to drink sweet girl nectar from your furry (though most likely waxed within in inch of its life) challace. To pass the time, and to make sure it's truly brimming, I'll sensually press my breast against your side"

You missed my Heavenly Sword bit, Tyrion. All I'm saying is I'm personally a bit tired of Lara Croft, its okay for you and company to disagree with me, so chill. I'm all for strong female leads and glad the TR games have improved, but we need to create new heroines. Like I said, this is the reason I'm looking forward to see how Heavenly Sword turns out. Nariko looks like the new kind of blood we need. There's a bit of a shortage going.

The success of female characters I do think is rare, and I understand Lara in respect to that for breaking ground. I just wish some new ones would step up to the plate. Only other female characters that seem to be out there as much seem to belong to Square Enix (thing with them is they usually change with every new FF/DQ incarnation). Understandable with their financial backing and staff, though.

What female characters do I like? Jade from BG&E, Claire or Jill from RE. Even with a games like RE, I usually play the female characters first, so I like em a lot. Each to their own, though.

If I didn't like female characters, why is my avatar Ibuki of SF 3rd Strike fame? Case for the defence rests.

Lara in a bikini, now that would have been greater, considering she's hot stuff and on a beach with similar hot babes.

1) Worst Croft ever (which isn't necessarily a bad thing were she taken out of context).
2) Why is it called 'Pink' beach? Details please.
3) If it's a girl-only beach, what's the guy doing on the far right in the second shot there? ... Whats that? Really?? Oh, n'mind.
