Ubisoft has just announced that its 12th Century stealthy adventure,
Assassin's Creed, will launch worldwide in November, just in time for Greedmas.
“
Assassin’s Creed is going to be a huge launch for Ubisoft this year along with the added prestige of being the start of this exciting new franchise that is bringing something completely new to the market,” said Tony Key, Ubisoft's vice president of marketing, in excellent corporo-speak form. “We’re confident that
Assassin’s Creed will exceed expectations as a ‘must-have’ title this holiday season and will achieve both critical and commercial success.”
SPOnG is compelled to agree with Key, it must be said. If we weren't convinced beforehand, the recently released
trailer (Richard Ashcroft soundtrack and all) certainly cemented our anticipation. Frankly, however, we'd be buying
Assassin's Creed even if it turned out to be about Sea Monkey rearing. Seeing
producer Jade Redmond speak about the game has us fumbling like 12-year-old schoolboys to keep her in the limelight.
