Cory Barlog, the producer of
God of War II and
Chains of Olympus has denied that work is under way on
God of War III.
While discussing
GoW rumoury on his blog, Barlog wrote:
“I would have to say that there isn’t much truth to any of that…that is really the first I have heard of that. If we do get started on a GOW for PS3 you can be sure I will be screaming about it from the mountain tops the first chance I am allowed. Until then…I am plugging away on my RPG opus ‘A Family Ties game’. It is going to be so freaking awesome…awesome to a level that will actually transcend awesome and become something entirely different… freakin LA LAWsome!”
You might remember when, back in March, Barlog told assembled revellers at the
God of War II launch party (no, not the
one with the goat) that they should
expect 1080p, sixaxis and rumble in the series' next instalment. Barlog hasn't contradicted himself with his blogging, but saying “
if” Sony makes an instalment of
GoW for PS3 seems a tad disengenuous to SPOnG.
We're not too worried about it for the time being, however. We're too busy basking in the afterglow of
playing God of War II to get our knickers in a bunch about more
GoW content before
Chains of Olympus hits. And, of course, there's that
Family Ties game to look forward to...
