Mystery Web Page Day: Final Fantasy And Simpsons

New Final Fantasy game coming to PSP

Posted by Staff
The Final Fantasy series and The Simpsons have both been given the good old mystery teaser web page treatment, with both pages apparently heralding upcoming games.

The new page on Square Enix's website tells us very little beyond a title: Final Fantasy: Dissidia. A little further digging, however, and you'll find a listing elsewhere on Enix's website that reveals the game to be a PSP release.

Other than that, the swanky flash intro tells us, "Fantasy is endless, Fantasy has no limited form" and the teensy text tells us Tetsuya Nomura is designing the characters. If you're not sure that you care, a quick glance at SPOnG's dedicated Nomura page will satisfy you that he should do a spiffing job with the game.

On the Simpsons front, EA put up and removed a website with a GTA IV-style countdown page letting us know that an announcement is coming. The site didn't explicitly say it was Simpsons-related, but a yellow background, Simpsons font and the tongue-in-cheek Rockstar rip-off has SPOnG convinced. Throw in the fact that EA recently has a licensing deal with 20th Century Fox and SPOnG would put cash money on it.

This isn't the first time The Simpsons has poked fun at the guys over at Rockstar. SPOnG's American readers might remember a recent episode of the TV series featuring the game Death Kill City 2: Death Kill Stories.

FF and The Simpsons aren't the only franchises to get the mystery webpage treatment of late. Just this morning SPOnG brought you news of a new Spidey game revealed tauntingly by some flash graphics and a dash of text on a website that's “coming soon”.
