Wario Coming To Nintendo DS In June

Suitable weirdness to ensue

The good folk over at Nintendo have informed SPOnG that the upcoming Wario: Master Of Disguise will be hitting European retailers on June 1st.

Speaking in a recent interview with SPOnG the game's director, Yutaka Hirata explained (in slightly broken English) the concept. Basically, Wario takes it upon himself to climb into a cartoon to steal the assorted treasures lurking there. When he gets inside, he finds himself a stick dubbed 'Goodstyle' which grants him the power of disguise normally belonging to the show's main character, Count Cannoli.

Wario promptly decides to get his mitts on the 'Wish Stone', "which they say is the coolest treasure of the world," Hirata told us. From there a three-way battle for the Wish Stone kicks off between Wario, Count Cannoli and “an enigmatic third character.” It all sounds suitably bizarre to SPOnG.

Nintendo proved Wario's worthiness as far as innovative control systems go with WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii. Needless to say, SPOnG's excited to see how Wario fares in his latest touch-screen outing.
