SPOnG is glad to announce that Wii gamers will be getting not one, but
two Resident Evil games this year – with a Wii-version of
Resident Evil 4 and
Umbrella Chronicles both set to arrive afore Christmas.
This week’s Famitsu magazine reveals the first details on the Wii conversion of
Resident Evil 4, with full Wii Remote/Nunchuck functionality, in which you get to shoot and stab in a realistic fashion. Cool.
OK,
Bio Hazard 4: Wii Edition (working title) is a port, as Wii-naysayers are quick to point out. But what a port!
The second piece of
Resident Evil news today is that new title
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles is set to be an on-rails first-person shooter, according to Famitsu. The player will be restricted to a set path, using the analogue stick on the Nunchuk to look around while aiming and shooting with the Wii Remote.
SPOnG just spoke with a Capcom PR rep in the UK who informed us that we will be obtaining the first screens and first ‘official’ information on both games later this week, so we’ll be sure to bring you that the minute we get it.
