Bethesda Softworks has announced a full expansion for the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The expansion pack, titled Shivering Isles, will be released on the PC and 360 in Spring.

Although the information Bethesda has released does not confirm it, the expansion will also appear on the PS3. No release date for the PS3 version is available as yet.

Shivering Isles offers up 30 new hours of play and opens up a whole new plane of Oblivion: the realm of Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. According to Bethesda:

'Within the Realm of Sheogorath, players can explore the two extreme sides of the god's madness - the sublimely creative and the completely psychotic. Something is happening to the Shivering Isles and Sheogorath himself looks to you to be his champion and defend his realm and its inhabitants from destruction. Do you have the strength to survive his trials, tame a realm fraught with paranoia and despair, and wear the mantle of a God?

SPOnG will be meeting the guys from Bethesda in the next few weeks. If there's anything in particular Oblivion related you need to know or want us to tell them then pop it into the forum and we'll be sure to ask them...
