Rumours from anonymous sources apparently† within the Lord of the Rings - White Council development team are wafting across from the United States and they smell bad. So bad in fact that it looks like the game is no more.
SPOnG first heard about EA’s ambitious plans to bring out an RPG with an entirely new storyline and new characters based on Tolkien’s Middle Earth last July, when we brought you the first details on Lord of the Rings: The White Council.
The games exec producer Steve Gray told us at the time:
“Our extremely talented and dedicated team is committed to creating an incredible new experience for fans of The Lord of the Rings and role playing gamers. With its next generation gameplay and epic new storyline, we think The Lord of the Rings, The White Council will be a huge success.”
