For those of a certain age will remember fondly the 1980’s Sega arcade and home console classic, Alien Syndrome. Well, twenty years on, and a new version of the aforementioned action-RPG is heading to the Wii and PSP in the summer of 2007.
The game is being developed by Totally Games, and puts players in control of the ‘strong and enigmatic’ heroine – Earth Command Trooper, Aileen Harding. She – yes, of course, ‘she’ - battles through a wide variety of environments including infested spaceships and bizarre alien planets, taking on a mixture of fearsome aliens and colossal bosses.
Take on over 100 different types of aliens while learning new abilities and skills and developing your character. On the way you get to blast away with 20 different weapons, including quad-barreled lasers and nanobot swarms as well as your bog-standard flamethrower.
Larry Holland, President and Creative Director of Totally Games. says that the game has been “completely re-designed from the ground up … this new Alien Syndrome offers a refreshing blast-athon on a venerable classic… As well, it has allowed us to exercise our science fiction chops to the fullest to create a totally involving futuristic action-RPG game experience.”
