It turns out that us Brits getting the Wii today isn't the only thing happening in the world. Sega has released new screens and a US packshot from the next instalment in its monster Virtua Fighter franchise. Naturally, SPOnG has them for your perusal.
Virtua Fighter 5 is a PS3 exclusive release, and Sega is looking to make the most of the machine's impressive horse-power. Release is slated for Spring next year, so it might just make it into the UK launch line-up.
The latest offering in the series introduces two new characters, El Blaze and Eileen, to the cast. It also offers the opportunity to customise your characters with different costumes and various attachable items that can be placed on characters' body parts. SPOnG is reminded of its Centurion figures from the '80s. We'd like a jet-pack and chest Gatling gun, please.

Virtua Fighter is still my favourite series. This one should be amazing, because Sega always make significant improvements to their sequels.
The graphics look nice, but a bit plasticky :p

i was never a fan of VF, but VF4 was really good nonetheless. this looks fantastic, im a bit disappointed its a ps3 exclusive as i have no intention of buying a ps3 for as far as i can see into the future.

Last time I played VF was on the dreamcast, I think Sega have done a serious wrongun with the PS3 exclusivity
