The latest sales figures from the NPD Group in the States confirm that November belonged to Nintendo, with the company having sold 55 percent of all video game systems through the month in North America.
Wii sold 600,000 systems in the United States alone in its first eight days of availability and more than a million Wii systems will be available in the United States by the end of the year.
The NPD figures also confirm that November’s two top sellers of any type were the Nintendo DS (920,000 units) and Game Boy Advance (642,000 portables sold), meaning that Nintendo sold through more than 2.1 million of the 3.9 million systems purchased for the month.
Finally, despite the bundling in of Wii Sports in the box, Wii buyers in the USA also purchased an average of two additional games, compared to approximately one game per system for the installed bases of the 360 or the PS3.
