Without further ado, here's the skinny:
The Dual Charger will allow (wait for it…) two PlayStation 3 controllers to be charged at once through twin USB ports and will come with two 4ft USB cables. It will also allow gamers to charge other USB compliant widgets directly through the console and will set you back $24.99.
The Charge Link provides a handy option for those inopportune moments when you realise your wireless SIXAXIS is out of juice. It's a 10ft cable that will allow gamers to charge the controller whilst still waving it about enthusiastically. The damage will be $14.99.
And finally our favourite, the HDMI Cable. It will allow you to make use of those much-vaunted Blu-Ray capabilities and connect to your high definition TV, at a cost of $29.99 (for the cable, not the TV). Of course, when we say "our favourite", we're making a rather poor attempt at irony. What we actually mean is: "Bittersweet reminder that we'll have to shell out more hard-earned cash to fully enjoy the PS3's hardware".
Nyko's marketing director Chris Arbogast seems quite pleased with their peripherals, though: "Our launch accessories for the PlayStation 3 put the power of high-definition gaming and innovative charging products at the fingertips of gamers who want to fully tap the console's power." We guess it will, but it doesn't make our wallets feel too much better.
We've contacted Nyko to try and get confirmation on whether the peripherals will be released in the UK and the rest of Europe, but haven't heard anything as yet. If there's any justice in this bleak and terrible world, they'll say yes. As soon as we know, you will too.
