Viva Pinata Special Edition Releases in December

Details on this season’s most-wanted stocking filler inside

SPOnG will finally get the opportunity to play Gears of War on an immense IMAX screen at Microsoft’s launch event in London tomorrow. We hope this might keep us fairly happy till GoW Emergence Day on the 17th November. Providing, that is, that the intensity of the experience doesn’t blow up our cerebral cortex or so deeply affect our amygdala that we go postal on someone’s ass.

It’s not all visceral alien-blasting violence for the 360 this coming Christmas holiday period though, with Microsoft announcing today that the Rare-developed, cutesy collect-em-all Viva Pinata will hit European shelves on the 1st December.

For that extra special stocking filler for the kids, nieces or nephew (oh, ok, actually for you) you can also pick up, for a limited time, a two-disc Special Edition Viva Piñata for the same price-tag of £44.99.

Viva Pinata Special Edition will include a sneak peek of an episode of the hugely-successful (in the States) 4Kids cartoon as well as playable demos of the 360’s most kid-friendly titles, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Frogger, Time Pilot and Marble Blast.

So perhaps Nintendo don't have the monopoly on family fun for Christmas 2006 after all. Let us know in the forums if you will be considering buying Viva Pinata for your kids or younger relatives (or yourself) this coming Christmas.
