Free Radical Gong of Terror at Game City
SPOnG likes the sound of Nottingham's Game City event, as we reported last week. There is a plethora of laid back events taking place where normal everyday members of the public (i.e. you) can meet up with games development gurus over a beer, a curry or a classic arcade game battle.

We will be there mainly to catch up with the guys from Free Radical to get the latest on the forthcoming Haze, and to find out what else the Midlands-based developers, famed for the TimeSplitters series, are up to these days.

One must-see event is the 'Free Radical Gong of Terror' in which aspiring videogame designers get to deliver a two minute pitch to win a two-week internship with one of SPOnG’s favourite games developers. If you have any games ideas they have been telling your mates about in the pub for years, then this could well be your moment.

If you don’t fancy being heckled by 600 drunken games developers, you can still enjoy live music courtesy of Narco and Idiot Joy as well as playing RedOctane’s Guitar Hero up on the stage.

Free Radical Gong of Terror takes place at Nottingham’s Kudos club on Friday, October 27. We'll see you there. For more on Game City, check out the website at Gamecity.org.
