A quick heads-up to let you know that the ever-impressive Wii launch roster has again swelled, as news breaks that Ubisoft will be releasing Splinter Cell Double Agent for the increasingly exciting Nintendo home console.
"We are very excited to bring Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent to the Wii this holiday season. The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximizing the capabilities of each respective video game console platform," outlined Ubisoft in a statement.
GameCube owners need not worry as their slender line-up remains unchanged. When the news broke, it was feared that the Wii version would replace that of its predecessor. We are assured that isn't the case. In development at Ubisoft's Montreal Studio, Double Agent for Wii will be based on the PlayStation 2 and GameCube versions of the game, not the expanded 360 SKU. The game will make use of the Wii controller, though the only 'detail' offered outlined the fact that Nunchuck will be included in the re-work.
