Sega backing out of the hardware market? Not on your nelly

Despite Sega’s recent announcement that the company would be withdrawing from hardware production, a new hardware piece has been unveiled today. The new unit is a Karaoke add-on and will sit beneath the main Dreamcast console.

The Dreamcast Internet Karaoke, as it will be known in Japan, will enable the user to download songs from the Internet, and let them sing along at home. The unit will come with a microphone and speaker leads as well as a limited edition Dreamcast bundle. As yet there is no word on whether or not the unit will see a European launch.
