Sonic Wild Fire, the first Sonic outing on Nintendo’s new gen Wii, is merely the working title of the game. SPOnG doesn’t see why it shouldn’t be the final title as it’s a cracker, but then, that’s up to Sega's Manager of Naming Things, who usually comes up with the goods.
SPOnG told you all about
Sonic Wild Fire back in May and we’re still pretty pumped that there’s going to be a Wii-specific Sonic to get stuck into sometime around March next year.
The controls, from the precious seconds we stole on the game back at E3, are simplicity exemplified – the player merely holds the WiiMote horizontally with two hands and tilts it left and right to steer Sonic on different paths and manoeuvre him around obstacles and enemies in his way.
To instigate a ‘dash-attack’ on ground or air enemies, or to bash through barriers, the player whips the WiiMote forward. Sega promises the game will come chock-full of extra mini-games plus the requisite multiplayer options.
Just check out the screens and remember to keep putting those pennies and cents into that big Wii jar in the kitchen, as it’s highly likely that it’s fewer than three months now till you’ll finally get your mitts on Nintendo’s new gen gem of a machine.
