SPOnG told you all about the latest versions of Premier Manager from ZOO Digital and the latest LMA Manager from Codies last week.

Today, we’ve just been sent the first info and screens on Eidos’ Championship Manager 2007, scheduled for release on PC this autumn. The once-great franchise has had a complete makeover, with London-based Beautiful Game Studios handling the development duties.

Championship Manager 2007 boasts new skins, menu shortcuts and a dynamic side bar, plus the introduction of an International Management option so you can manage your country in the World Cup. SPOnG likes the sound of this. It’s just a shame that the game didn’t come out in time for Sven to get some practice in before the actual 2006 competition.

Anyways, forgetting about the Tournament of Shame, Champ Manager 2007 also introduces a new feature – the Match Analysis Tool, described as an, “‘under the bonnet’ reveal of statistical information relevant to every player and every game including; goals scored, runs made and shots/passes/tackles made or failed…[offering] each manager a true representation of the information on offer to top flight football managers.”

What else is going to help the game stand out in what’s becoming an increasingly crowded market?

The press release goes on to inform us: “Managers will now be able to praise and criticise players in a brand new team talks feature and give individual instructions to players either pre-match or at half time and receive staff feedback on performances… behind the scenes there is also a huge backroom staff of improvements including transfers, negotiations, news, media and pre-match build up along with player and club data accurate up to the closing of the August transfer window, a refined AI system and the introduction of two new leagues: Conference North and South.”
