Infogrames has consolidated the deal that Ocean Software has with film giants Tri-Star for a massive $10 million. The move comes just months after Infogrames opened up a new office in Hollywood for the exact purpose of sealing deals to major film rights.
The rights to the original Terminator film and those to Terminator 2 were owned by Manchester-based Ocean Software, a company that Infogrames bought in 1998. The rights to future films were loosely incorporated into the Ocean deal, but not assured. Now that Terminator 3 has been confirmed, along with the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a making a metal endoskeleton comeback, make the rights highly desirable.
