SPOnG has been looking forward to getting jiggy with Codemaster’s Dance Factory, due out this summer on PlayStation 2.
You can read our
in-depth first look at this intriguing dance game title which we first clapped eyes on when we were last up at Codemasters HQ earlier this year.
The big selling point of course is the fact that the game promises to be able to play any of your favourite music CDs and generate dance routines from them for you to dance/play along with, promising - tantalisingly enough - “never ending replay value.”
Should it work - and we are praying it will - it will be a major breakthrough for the genre, meaning that gamers will no longer be limited by pre-programmed dance routines.

MPEG4 XviD (14.4MB)
Widows Media (14.9MB)
Various modes include Fitness, an Eyetoy compatible mode, Endurance and Recorder, where players can record their own dance steps to their favourite song. The game had SPOnG's Phil - normally besuited and very business-like - shimmying and shaking along to the Kaiser Chiefs in the Codemasters office back in the early spring and we are assured that the development has come on in leaps and bounds since then.
