Brazilian soccer legend fronts Pro Evo 6

Konami signs up Brazil's golden boy Adriano

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has just sent word to SPOnG that Pro Evolution Soccer 6’s ‘pan-European front man’ is to be Adriano – the renowned Brazil and Inter Milan striker.

Adriano is one of the most respected, not to mention the most dangerous strikers in the game right now, and is sure to be a household name by the end of the current World Cup. Especially if we see a Brazil-England final, which some crazy SPOnG staffers have actually put money on due to being given incredible odds (yes, there’s a reason for that lads! – Ed).

So it’s a shrewd move from Konami. Adriano was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1982, starting his career for Brazilian league club Flamengo, before signing for Inter Milan a year later and making his international debut for Brazil against Colombia in 2000.

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be here in November, on both current and new formats, plus both PSP and DS handheld versions.

Commenting on his new signing, Adriano said: “I am really looking forward to working with Konami on what everyone knows to be the most realistic football game around… Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is known worldwide for its quality and I am delighted to be associated with such a fine series.”

Adriano may well never have played Pro Evo before, he may well not even care for videogames one jot, it doesn’t really matter. He’s a footballing legend, and he has the additional Brucey bonus of also having a single name that sounds like he’s a rock star too.

Martin Schneider, European Marketing bossman for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH, had the following to say about the Adriano deal: “Adriano is rightly regarded as a player with skill, pace and passion – all key elements to success in Pro Evolution Soccer 6… further new signings will be announced in the coming weeks.”
