PS3 launch line-up: 15 titles expected
SCEA boss Kaz Hirai, speaking to business news provider Bloomberg, has gone on record to say he expects that there should be around fifteen titles available on launch with the PS3.

Hirai told Bloomberg that, "I don't think there will be too much of an issue," when speaking about the growing concerns amongst gamers, third party publishers and developers that there could well be a lack of PS3 software for the November launch.

Sega of America's big cheese, Simon Jeffrey meanwhile had told Bloomberg that, in his opinion, "there certainly will not be a lot of titles available" for the console’s launch, noting that a significant number of developers have yet to receive final dev kits from Sony.

Backing Jeffey’s comments was THQ's big boss, Brian Farrell, who waded into the fray, stating that THQ would not be developing The Sopranos for PS3 because it's "too risky.”

Most publishers are of course giving their full support to PS3 development, many noting that, as with any new console, it will take time for their developers to fully make use of the system.

Activision’s CEO Robert Kotick told Bloomberg that even though the dev systems were not "final, final hardware…we know what the processors' capacity is - we have active development underway."

Ubisoft’s top fromage, Yves Guillemot agreed with the Activision boss, noting, diplomatically that: "We won't be able to take advantage of all the components of the PS3… but it was the same last year."

More news on the PS3 launch line-up as we get it.

how come Farrel thinks Sopranos would be "risky" yet THQ has at least Frontlines & Wwe SD/Raw '07 in the pipe for PS3?
