Summary

The popular RTS series receives its latest instalment with the release of Command and Conquer: Generals, giving players the opportunity to command their own General amidst modern global warfare.

Selecting from an assortment of powerful Generals, each with special strengths and a unique vehicle unit, players take to the action controlling massive armies of bleeding-edge military weaponry across a globe on the brink of Armageddon. Each of the Generals has certain advantages and weaknesses, allowing a variety of different strategies to be deployed in different situations. Opting for the NATO Tank General would enable players to smother the opposition with raw power, whilst letting loose the Chinese Secret Police General could help capture hidden enemies.

Throughout the battles a host of modern and near-future military weaponry is at the player's disposal. This allows for a massive variety of ways in which to wage war, resulting in such conflicts as air-to-air duels and urban combat. There's also an array of all-new units and tactics, which enable players to assemble their war machines with top-secret Aurora Strike Fighters, massive Paladin Battle Tanks, angry mobs, skilled hackers, and over 60 other distinct units. Add to this a number of exclusive super weapons, like the US Air Fuel Bomb and the Chinese Nuclear Missile, and we're talking serious firepower.

There are 27 single-player missions to battle through, as well all the usual LAN/Internet multi-player options - this time allowing players to work co-operatively - so there's a fair amount of bang for your buck. The game's all-new 3D engine means that it also looks pretty sexy.
