Summary

Liverpool and England star Steven Gerrard has put his name behind the UK edition of Total Soccer 2002 for the Game Boy Advance. If you played the original Total Soccer you will be impressed with the differences between the 8 and 32-bit versions of this playable game. With smoother, faster and more detailed graphics, Total Soccer 2002 is the portable football game to own.

Total Soccer 2002 plays in a similar way to the classic Sensible Soccer on the Amiga, a game many regard as the definitive football game. Total Soccer uses the same top-down perspective and features fast and furious gameplay. The viewpoint allows you to see enough of the pitch to play an effective passing game. The control method is easy to learn and the players respond how you would expect them to.

You can choose from over 170 real world teams to play as or against. This includes national and international squads with player statistics taken from the 2002 season. Players can then compete in variety of competitions at national, European and International levels. A battery back-up function is available to save your progress mid-season or mid-competition.

The single-player experience is a rewarding one, but the real fun of Total Soccer lies in the two-player link-up mode. If you have a friend to play against, the 'long-lastability' (that's footballer-speak for longevity) of this title is doubled. With Total Soccer 2002, you can have a quick game of football whenever and wherever you like. Nice one, my son.
