Summary

Silent Scope for the PlayStation 2 is your chance to become a sniper, one of the most dangerous and exclusive professions of them all. You must have nerves of steel to keep cool under the immense pressure of the job. Hold your breath, take your time, steady yourself, wait, fire. The President and his family were travelling to a political conference, when all of a sudden they were attacked and kidnapped. The police are trying to control the situation but they need your help desperately. Take to the roofs and helicopters; you must take out the terrorists before time runs out. We will not bow to their demands.

When you consider that one of the main features of the arcade version of Silent Scope was its rifle with built in magnifying scope, the home conversions are always going to be lacking something. Konami have really pushed themselves to bring such a faithful conversion to the PlayStation 2. In Silent Scope you have a sight that you move around the screen to target the terrorists. If you let go of the left trigger the sight will become a magnified view of the action. Then line up your headshot and fire. You really feel the pressure of being a sniper, the time limit, the missions, don’t let it get to you.

Konami have added loads of PlayStation 2 specific features to increase the re-playability factor. Extra missions, secret missions (successful head shots on the bosses), and training missions will keep you coming back for more. There are only a limited amount of continues available, so if you want to save the President it depends on your skill. Sniping from the top of a building is easy, but try shooting from a moving helicopter or boat at a moving target, then you’ll understand what a great and tricky game this is.If you can play Silent Scope using the new USB mouse, it makes it twice as good.
