Summary

Finally, a Nintendo handheld with a respected fighting franchise on it! Capcom’s Street Fighter series really needs no introduction - least of all Street Fighter IV, which has captured the hearts of button bashers for a good few years now - and this version on the Nintendo 3DS packs some fancy visual and connectivity features on top of its already pinpoint gameplay mechanics.

The most obvious is the utilisation of the portable’s 3D technology - Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition allows Hadouken fireballs and Sonic Boom kicks to pop out of the top screen, while an optional camera mode changes the viewpoint from a side view to behind your character’s back, for a more third-person style fighting effect.

35 playable characters and brand new WiFi modes are packed into this version, along with all the content you remember from the console edition of Super Street Fighter IV. The Figurine Mode takes advantage of the StreetPass features of the Nintendo 3DS, allowing you to set up automated battles with people you pass in your daily commute. When you reach your destination, a roundup of who you passed and the battles you won get added to your battle history and you can collect your loot from the winnings.

On top of a Lite controller interface that uses the 3DS touch screen to its full potential, you can also use Game Sharing to send a demo of the game to a friend. Twist their arm and then play the full game wirelessly together!
