Summary

It doesn't matter what century it is. Democracy has its enemies, and from time to time those enemies need shooting at.

With that in mind, Infinity Ward took its ever popular Call of Duty series out of the 1940s and World War II and into the modern era. You might have left behind the moral comfort to be had from knowing you're fighting Nazis, but now you get to play with all kinds of fancy modern doodads. Finally, with Reflex, Wii owners get to enter the Theatre of War.

Fighting as a U.S. Marine or a British SAS soldier, you'll travel the world, dropping into troubled hotspots through a twisting and turning story to defend truth, justice and…well, whatever qualifies as the American way these days.

You'll fight with any of 70 new weapons and pieces of kit, including assault rifles with laser sites, claymore mines, .50 caliber sniper rifles, and M-249 SAW machine guns. Other fancy gadgets include night-vision goggles and ghillie suits for you to do your stealthy thing with.

The Wii version won't manage quite the coat of polish that the PS3, 360 and PC versions had, but it comes with an advantage over its predecessors – co-op play. Also included is a range of different control options, including the Wii Zapper if you have one lying around.

The multiplayer aspect builds on the experience provided in Call of Duty 2, with a create a class option allowing players to customise their gear, unlockables and perks coming out of experience points, and matchmaking and leaderboards.

One of the biggest-selling games of all time is finally on the Wii!
