Neverwinter Nights 2 (NWN 2) is the sequel to Neverwinter Nights (NWN), which was released by Atari in 2006. Where NWN was based on the Dungeons & Dragons Third Edition rules, NWN 2 is based on Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 rules (also known as the Revised Third Edition). Gameplay will be very similar to the original game.

The Forgotten Realms is crying out for a champion. Many years have passed since the war between Luskan and Neverwinter. But the brief peace the Realms have known may be at an end. Tension growing between the mighty city-states means the Sword Coast again faces the prospect of war. However, a greater danger has gone unnoticed in the City of Skilled Hands. Unknown to the people of the North, Deep in the Mere of Dead Men, dark forces from across the Realms have been rallied under the banner of a legendary evil. If left unchallenged, all of the North is in great danger and will undoubtedly fall under its power.

All is not lost, however, as a mysterious relic is borne to Neverwinter in the hands of a lone hero so that its secrets may be unlocked. These secrets carry the fate of all the North and only you can save humanity.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, NWN 2 features more than 10 new companions that players will encounter and join in their ongoing adventures in the lands of Faerun. The companions provide players with an invaluable insight into the game's storyline and are very entertaining as well. It is possible to select up to three of these companions to explore and adventure with at any one time. However, it is important to remember that with increased party size comes greater companion complexity. This can range from combat effectiveness and enhanced usefulness to improved dialogue, personalities and story background. If the mood takes you, you can play online with other gamers and enjoy limitless fun.
