Beyblade VForce: Super Tournament Battle - GameCube

The festive phenomenon that was reducing parents nationwide into fits of hysteria only a couple of Christmases ago is still going strong. This latest video game spin-off is the third virtual outing for the Japanese battle game, this time appearing on GameCube.

In case you didn't know, the concept of Beyblade is fundamentally that of the old spinning tops that your dad used to try and convince you were really cool (or are we perhaps showing our age now?). More interestingly, however, Beyblade combines this simple concept with strategy, customisation and a whole load of in-yer-face Japanese nonsense, and has the tops rotating for dear life in a battle for survival.

V-Force Super Tournament enables you to have all this fun from the comfort of your own TV, allowing you to build your very own spinning tops, add the spirit of the almighty Bit Beasts (see what we mean about Japanese nonsense?) and enter your creations into fierce battles. If you're a fan of the series you'll be pleased to know that all your favourite characters are in there, allowing you to play as them and recreate historic showdowns.

There are a total of four game modes on offer, including the likes of Beyblade Battle Association Tournament and Battle Royal. There's a Workshop feature, which is where you get to build and customise your own Beyblades. And if you've got mates who want to join in, then you can take advantage of the game's multiplayer support, which enables up to four players to fight it out.
