Summary
Picture the scene. You are a devil-may-care, pint-sized screeching terror, and you and several of your devil-may-care, pint-sized screeching terrible friends of limited vocabulary are bound for gay Paris, where only the river is Seine. It sounds like fun for the kids, if a little scary for ‘Les Natives’. Luckily, young players won’t have to travel too far or work too hard to enjoy Euro Reptarland, the theme park around which Rugrats In Paris: The Movie is centered.
The crux of the story is that the Rugrats (you get to choose which one you would like to play the game as – joy!) are charged with finding the missing parts of baby Stu’s favourite monster figure, Reptar. These parts can be earned and found by travelling the length and breadth of the park, visiting all the stalls and attractions and picking up special tokens along the way. Collect enough tokens and pay a visit to the Prize Centre where you can trade for items that will come in useful for challenges you will encounter later in the game. It’s all very simple to follow and younger players, the obvious target market, will take Rugrats In Paris: The Movie, the game, to their tiny little hearts. Mums and dads will be delighted to learn that possible pre-pubescent ennui is diverted at regular intervals with the appearance of mini-games, the likes of which you would expect to find at any theme park or fun fair: balloon popping, ball tossing and mini-golf are but a few of the activities on offer.
So, parents, if your own rugrats need another fix of Chuckie, Tommy et al, even after the inevitable trip to the cinema during the school holidays, Rugrats In Paris: The Movie’s N64 companion is the ideal pacifier.
