Summary

As you may or may not know, Piglet's Big Movie is another film offering from those magical pencils at Disney. Whether or not the plan is to categorically make a celluloid star out of each and every one of Winnie the Pooh's friends remains to be seen, but they've done it with Tigger, and now it's the little Pig's turn. As you would expect with the release of a kid's film, there are a few accompanying video game offerings, such as a 3D adventure on the PS2 and GameCube, and this puzzle-based activity title, targeted at 3-5 year olds, on the PC.

Not really related to the plot of the movie, Piglet's Big Game tells of a quest in which young players help the porky protagonist find the ingredients for the Very Big Soup, which Rabbit is making for a celebration. Using a simple point-and-click interface, the idea is to guide Piglet around the famous Hundred Acre Wood and get down to a bit of exploration, searching and puzzle solving. The puzzles themselves appear in the form of a variety of different brain-teasers, designed specifically to assist in the development of players' spatial, organisational, strategic and creative thinking skills. On top of this there are also a few mini games to partake in, providing a bit of additional fun.

Throughout each activity you get to meet all the favourite characters from the Pooh universe, all rendered with Disney's trademark rich and colourful style. Along the way, you'll find yourself helping Pooh fix his broken honey pot so Tigger can fill it with honey; navigating your way across a lily pond to Kanga and Roo's picnic area; doing a bit of painting with Eeyore; and helping Owl find his spices for the all important soup.

With an emphasis on educational elements as well as fun, Piglet's Big Game on the PC is ideal for the young Winnie the Pooh fan, as it allows them to meet all their favourite characters whilst exercising their young minds at the same time. This game is not recommended for Doom fans - although it may help to prevent them from killing their classmates.
