iDogs Finally Come to UK
Following on from the recent news about Sony canning their much-loved Robot Dog Aibo, SPOnG was glad to hear that UK robo-canine lovers can finally get their mitts on the sought-after iDog, which we’ve been banging on about since last Spring.

The iDog ‘feeds’ on music. No, really, hear us out. As we’ve previously reported, the iDog’s mood changes depending on the kind of music you play – if you want to rock, he’ll show some attitude and flash his red LEDs in a ‘mean n moody’ way. Whereas if you want to chill, the little robo-canine will relax into the vibe, expressing himself with some mellow dancing and soft green and yellow LEDs.

iDog needs your love too – give him a pat on the head and he’ll love you right back. Awwww, sweet. But don’t flick his tail or you’ll make him angry! And be warned, you’ve got to keep ‘feeding’ him more music, 'cos if you don’t, he’ll bark to let you know he’s hungry for more.

Despite actually having nothing to do with Sega, as previously thought, or with Apple for that matter (those crazy Japanese and their total disrespect for patent law!) the iDog is still a must have daft desktoy for gadget freaks and iPod lovers, and now, thanks to the toy geniuses at Hasbro, you can finally go and get one from your local toy store. Or if you can’t even be bothered to do that get one online from the mighty Firebox.com. They're only £30 and will keep you amused for longer than most videogames.

There are many other options concerning what to do with your iDog. You could use it as an iPod speaker on your desk or in the kitchen; you could shove it on the parcel shelf in the car for the full-on cheese effect; you could even use it as a guard dog. Although the robbers would probably just nick it and swap it for a fiver bag of smack.

SPOnG will be buying an iDog for our better half for Valentine's next week. She’ll no doubt pretend to be all excited, but secretly be a bit miffed that its not encrusted with diamonds. In fact, we quietly hope that she’ll give it back to us in a bit of a huff to save us also having to buy one for ourselves. Arf!

If any readers have any other clever ideas what to buy the lady in their life for next week's Commercial Celebration of Romance, please let us know in the forums below. Please. Otherwise we're in some right bother!

They're in the new Argos, too. They've been out a while - saw a guy trying to decide between it and that other one they advertised on TV.

I'm definitely getting one of these. Even though they are probably shoddily made and will sound s**t and will probably break after a week.

what was the other one advertised on TV?

Spong, are you that daft? Of course the iDog has everything to do with SEGA. This is a SEGA Toys product after all, you imbeciles.

SEGA Toys being one of SEGA's most profitable divisions.

Just because Habro is distributing it in the West you're moronic enough to think it's a product of their 'geniuses' and has 'nothing to do with SEGA'? I love you Spong but it's crap like this thta gets you your bad rep.

LATEST AT IGN: There will be a Sonic game for Revolution!!!11!11one! Click here for guesswork and utterly no research whatsoever for an article that will not only pander to the Nintendo fanboys but will also make us look big and clever. Except it won't because such a title for the Revolution hasn't been confirmed and if it was it of course wouldn't be the same as the PS3/XB360 title! But LOOK at us! WE AM TEH SMRAT.

LATEST AT NGC: Zelda will be able to be played with the Revo controller! PLUS! Revolution will come with sieve controller! Our secret source (A. Chipmunk) told us all this s**t about Revo that Nintendo don't want you to know!

LATEST AT EUROGAMER: Some review of a game that gets 3/10 because we don't like the story! READ NOW!

LATEST AT GAMESPOT: Something. Or a movie. That nobody cares about.

SPOnG gets one small piece of information wrong and you all go beserk. They're not the only ones with a 'bad rep'. They just don't have the sheer fanboy dumbasses masses flocking here. So I guess in a way, the small mistakes get noticed more. I don't recall many other large sites or magazines getting a bad rep, despite how poorly they write their "news for ages 3 and under" or reviews printed on the bog paper that they are. :P

I was supposed to be talking about the iDog wasn't I? OSHI-

I love it. SEGA Toys rock my socks. If only for Princess Rinko. Mind you, if the iDog does that little head-nodding thing when you turn it on, like the AIBO does, then I'm sold.

As for presents guys, try The Rub Rabbits. :3
Or, GAME would suggest 50 Cent: Bulletproof. Well romantic.

NOW it gets released in the UK??? I saw this in Paris as early as october, i've seen it back in Belgium at a local toy store in December... (and in all likelyhood, it was released here when it was released in France, i just didn't see it) yet it just got out NOW in the UK? Darn

And by the way, it says "sega" on the box.
