Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced four new titles for the UMD format as employed by SCEI’s recently released PlayStation Portable.

As you will know, Spider-Man 2 was the first title confirmed for a North American launch, shipping free with the console’s Value Pack on March 24 for $249.

The new titles are xXx, Hellboy, Resident Evil Apocalypse and Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and is the first wave in what SCE has pledged will be a rolling movie support system for PSP that will see both new and older titles offered on a monthly basis.

And of course there’s the Square Enix-developed Final Fantasy Advent Children, also slated for the PSP, though with no concrete release date assigned as yet.

As soon as European details emerge regarding UMD movie support for PSP, as well as the all-important regional-locking possibilities, we’ll let you know.

Not "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", please. That movie sucked soooo bad.

But Resident Evil Apocalypse is welcome.

Glad I missed that film then.

These films are a nice start anyway. Watched REA the other day and it was a lot of fun. It's as game movies should be, a game crowd pleaser that doesn't try to please dumb ass critics.

I suppose Sony are hand picking the titles which are catered for the gamer in mind. That's right, more decent films. Not the LotR trilogy though, that would eat your PSP battery alive. LOL.
