Is that a games console in your pocket or are you just pleased to be feeling the cold?
One cold Saturday evening and across Japan there’s the tri-annual sight of mid-twenties males standing in queues outside technology stores.
Casual passers-by may wonder what the allure is, though arguably in urban Japan, awareness of a portable PlayStation 2 console launching will be higher than that of base-level current affairs.
These images, courtesy of The Magic Box show this natural phenomenon passing through its three distinct stages – waiting, buying, and finally scuttling.

I do know that my girl is angry at me. I just plugged in my phone, got in a little power, and read that she's still upset that I took her batteries (Sony ones, to be ironic and specific), and that I "better come back." I don't think I'm coming back. Though I did lie to a "massage girl" just before entering this internet cafe. She told me she'd make it really cheap. "Where'd you guys get that?"
"Store in Akihabara. Goodnight."

I'm not making that up, I swear."
If only buying games machines offered such thrills in Uxbridge.

Lucky japanese folk. Mine's a PSP and Ridge Racers please.
I hope Sony are not pulling the wool over our eyes about shortages.
Just hope there will be enough for the uk/eu launch come March 2005.

I really doubt we will see a release in March Joji and if we do it will be in serious short supply.
