The lucrative Eminem name has been secured by Conspiracy Entertainment for use in various forthcoming games across all platforms. After all, both the hip-hop and video games industries generally target the same audience, and Eminem has a bigger audience than most. Hip-hop's pervasive influence has crept onto consoles before, so the announcement was not unprecedented. Mix Master Mike's cameo appearance in SSX Tricky, the Wu-Tang Clan's taste The Pain, Def Jam Vendetta and even Parappa have all helped pave the way.
The first Eminem game will also mark the beginning of the new Mix TV series. Mix TV has a specialised graphics engine designed to incorporate large segments of FMV within the game's playing field. There are six different modes of play based around the idea of assembling and rearranging video footage before each film runs out. It sounds a bit weird so far, so a more detailed explanation will be required closer to its release date.
