Japanese Xbox Live beta testing kicks off today
Microsoft’s Japanese Xbox team will today begin its recruitment drive for beta-testers for its Xbox Live outing. With testing already underway in Europe, and almost complete in the US, this announcement will end gossip that Microsoft was thinking of delaying Xbox Live in Japan.

The testing will require 5,000 gamers, all of whom must have a broadband connection -Xbox Live is a broadband-only service - aged 18 or over, and willing to pay around £37 for the privilege.

At this point in time, it is not clear exactly which game titles will be bundled for testing with the Communicator Headset. It is also unclear whether testers in the US, Europe and Japan will be able to ‘see’ each other during testing.

Stay tuned for more as it breaks.
