Over at the CeBIT trade show, Sony Computer Entertainment has packed up its stand and gone home, following complaints that Sony representatives were allowing attendees to play PlayStation 2 games.
Allegedly, several complaints were lodged to event organiser Hanover Messe AG, including one from Microsoft. The organisers were forced to act as, technically, allowing people to play games is in contravention to CeBIT’s rules.
Sony is said to have approached the show’s organisers and Microsoft to find a solution to the problem, but no agreement could be reached that was acceptable to all parties.
Microsoft has since denied it made any such complaint, but a CeBIT spokeswoman confirmed that the American software giant had, upholding the fact that “…CeBIT is not for playing games.”
It is said that Microsoft’s remaining stand is badly damaged with handbag dents.
