Sony prematurely outed Gran Turismo 6 last night, as an official game page appeared on the franchise's website ahead of an expected reveal tonight. In what was obviously an accident - and in no way, shape or form a method of drumming up additional hype for the game against growing anticipation for Microsoft's next Xbox reveal on May 21 - the
Gran-Turismo.com page listed a product titled
Gran Turismo 6, but offered no details whatsoever. The page has since been removed.
There's a
celebration taking place in Silverstone today to commemorate the racing series' 15th Anniversary. The future of the series is expected to be discussed - with a PS3 release of GT6 top of the list. With the website's administrative gaffe, it's looking increasingly obvious that rumours of a 5pm reveal tonight is on the cards.
Of course, we've known about
GT6 for ages now. Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi
spoke openly about it in an interview back in 2010, and earlier this year Sony Worldwide Studios VP Michael Denny suggested a PS3 release later this year.
