Peter Molyneux's Curiosity "experiment" is still going after 164 days in the wild. It now comes with the option to buy and replace as well as to destroy cubes.
The basic fact is that £0.69 will add 10,000 cublets to the master cube. £4.99 gets 100,000 added. £7.49 adds 500,000. Yes, although up until now it's been all about destroying cubelets to get through layers in order to reveal the secret of the cube. Not now though...
According to Peter Molyneux's 22Cans studio, which develops the 'experiment', "We don't know quite what will happen. Curiosity may very well rapidly degrade to reveal its innermost secret or maybe the effects of automatically removing cubelets will be neutralised by players keen to keep Curiosity going."
It's certainly an ace way to make more cash from the game. Cash that will surely go to the "winner" of the game or the team that developed it, or to charity or something. Wherever it goes, Eurogamer thinks that, "Looking into the system more closely, it appears that the sum of cublets to be removed and added is applied to the next layer of the cube to be revealed."
